  • Adams: In 1901 William Henry Adams (1865- ), a Colour Sergeant instructor on the permanent staff of the Jersey Militia (left), was living here with his wife Minnie Sophia, nee Goddard (1869- ). William was born in Sheffield, and his wife in Surrey. Sgt Adams' career postings can be traced through the birth of his children and earlier census records. After leaving Sheffield, his father Thomas was a servant, groom and gardener in various locations in the south-east of England and in 1881 the family was living in Aldershot. He and Minnie were married at Woolwich in 1887 and their son Charles William was born in Aldershot later that year. He was followed by Herbert Walter in 1890, born in Portsmouth and in 1891 the family was living in married quarters in Alverstoke, Hampshire. A further son Frederick was born in England in 1892, but by 1895 William had been seconded to the Militia in Jersey and daughter Rosie was born in St Helier that year. Another son Percy was born the following year in St Lawrence and by 1901 the family had moved to Wheatlands. The last of their children, Lily May, was born in St Helier in 1906. William Henry had retired from the Army by 1911 and was working as a railway station master. He and Minnie had moved with Lily May to live in 2 Glenmore Villas, Tower Road, in St Helier
  • Gibaut: In 1941 Herbert Marett Gibaut (1890- ) and his wife Vera Phyllis, nee Remon (1899- ) were living here
