This house retains external historic character and fine features of Victorian Gothic style.
Originally single storey, raised and decorated in 1880s. It was known until recently as Mechanic Lodge, as it was home to the Le Cappelain family - Victorian ironworkers and notable manufacturers of agricultural machinery.
Set back from road. Two-storey three-bay house with single storey wing to north. Slate roof with fleur-de-lis crested ridge tiles. Rendered chimneys with moulded, dentilled cornice on each gable.
