Historic Environment Record entry

Listed building

Farm house of circa 15th century origins, and fine 18th century refronting, retaining historic character. The south range could be one of the earliest domestic structures extant in Jersey. Shown on the Richmond Map of 1795.

Original house circa 15th century with possible earlier origins; 17th and 18th century additions and 1840s barn.

Clues to the possible very early age of this house are the very small size of rubble stone in the construction of the abutting south range, and equally small material used in the north gable of the main house. Evidence of lost tourelle stair - the door jamb into the tourelle still being visible. This possibly took place at the same time as the rebuilding of the east elevation circa 1750.
