Sadly, Francis and Mary`s daughter, Mary J., was their only child, who never married, so the property later changed hands

A rare example of an original 17th century façade with the group as a whole contributing to the rural roadside setting. The house has been greatly developed and extended.
A building is shown on this site on the Richmond Map of 1795. Its origins are late 17th century.
Original farmhouse (two-storey, five-bay) with rear wing to northeast. 20th century extension. Pigsties further east. Single storey outbuildings in L-shape to southwest.
The stable block retains some timber stalls and brick paviours.
Old Jersey Houses
This secluded house near Carrefour au Clerq was dated to 1668 by early 20th century historian Edmund Toulmin Nicolle but this date could not be confirmed by Joan Stevens, who mentions it in the first volume.
The bench beside the hearth which Nicolle discovered has long since disappeared, along with a bread rack.
