Several families are shown living at 'Uplands, St Peter' in 1941, but we have been unable to determine whether they lived here or at another property of the same name, close to the Airport

This mid-18th century, five-bay house retains is character and historic features, with an increasingly rare surviving example of a latticed porch.
The outbuildings to the west add value to the farm group as a whole in enclosing the south garden; those to the east contribute to the group.
The group as a whole contributes to the roadside rural setting.
Shown on the Richmond Map of 1795.
Range of outbuildings to east. To west, returning south, are two-storey converted outbuildings, now called Vortices.
The three-bay house to the rear, now called Uplands Cottage, is of interest in showing the development of the farm.
